![]() This modification phase has not left me, and it’s actually expanded to my camera equipment. My thought on that – if somebody steals my BlackBerry and I have to describe it, instead of just using the serial number or something, I can tell the cops, “It’s red! How many red BlackBerries are there?” I’ve done it in the past with my electronics – my first BlackBerry cell phone had a standard black chassis I took it apart, painted the chassis bright red, and re-assembled it. It starts in grade school, when you put your name on your school books – but instead of pencil, which can be erased so that next year’s student can use it – you emblazon your name in magic marker and ink and enough creativity to put a graffiti artist to shame. ![]() I don’t know if it’s something hardwired in my DNA, but if I own something cool, I have to find a way to cosmetically “modify” it to be distinctively mine.
